🥌 How To Remove Miata Hardtop

In this video I explain how to remove the hardtop from a Mk/Mk2/2.5 Mazda MX-5 and go through 3 things you must avoid doing when removing the roof! Please sub Thanks! Soft top has to be folded down to fit a hardtop over it. the soft top could also be removed and only have the hard top. It would be folded down on the rear parcel shelf. It would be obvious just look its not hidden or anything just retracted. Take a picture of the parcel shelf if youre not sure and we will tell you if you have a soft top. I want to remove the MX-5 and Skyactive badge from the back of my ND2. I know they have 2-3 pins holding them in place. My question is how much (on average) would a shop charge for removing, plugging and color matching the holes where the pins were? Absolutely loving this car so far. Had her for about 5 days now, best purchase I’ve ever made! 2. less than one hour if you never done before. remove the 10 bolts on the rear, the remove the metal and rain rain, refit the metal rail you need it to fit the carpet. remove the 2 safety belts plastic sides then remove the 3X2 14 bolts on the side, that's all. you don't need the rain rail for the hard top. Less is more. Step 1: Removal. First step is to remove the 3 items that block your ability to access the inside of the trunk. 1. Passenger Chair (Quantity 4 - 14mm Bolts) 2. Peel back the carpet. 3. Remove the rear firewall (a dozen or so small 10mm bolts) Of course, since the screw was apparently tight enough in there to break (1) the head of the screw; (2) the EZ; that may not be enough. I guess you could use heated aluminum and a slightly too small hole to get a bit more of an edge. And/or maybe drill the hole farther in and use a clamp on it outside the plastic. The plan is to have the hard to be permanent and no soft top at all, but it rains out of nowhere in Central Florida so I don't want to unbolt the soft top and then drive out there, just to find out I don't want to but a damaged hard top, then drive home again, all possible with no to at all in the rain In this video i show you how to adjust the roof clips for the soft top and hard top on a mk1 and mk2 Mazda MX5 or Miata. If you found the video helpful then p 3. Lower the windows. 4. Remove the shift knob 5. Remove the center console observing the following step #s in the figure: Remove the front finisher and two screws Remove the rear finisher and two screws Remove the cup holder finisher and screw AT shift to D range Unclip the parking brake boot Skip this step in the diagram Heya! I just bought a hardtop yesterday that came without door seals. (the previous owner removed the old ones because they were damaged). I've already ordered new seals for both sides. Hardtop side latch bolts (3 on the HT itself): M6 x 1.0, 15mm long. 20mm long works as well. Side striker plate bolts (2 on each side of the body): M8 x 1.25, 20mm long. Get as short a bolt as possible due to the rollbar making space an issue. Beatrush lock holes: 8mm in diameter. The latch is 22mm wide, so you need a 30mm bolt minimum. Make sure you are using a number 3 screw driver. I bought one with a square shaft and used a wrench on it while pressing down as hard as I could. I was able to remove all but one of the bolts that way. The last one I tried sheared inside of the hard top. I was able to remove that one by drilling through the center of it heating it with a Noex.
